Peta Murgatroyd is giving her dancing feet a rest.
Just over a month after giving birth to her and Maks Chmerkovskiy's new baby boy Milan Maksim Chmerkovskiy, PetaMurgatroydSharesShesNotReturningAheadofSeason Peta shared that she would not be returning to Dancing With the Stars for season 33.
"In terms of me," she said in an Aug. 29 Instagram Live, "Dancing With the Stars, guys, I'm sorry, it's not this season."
She added, "It's just too soon."
Peta first joined the cast of the competition series in 2011 as a member of the show's dance troupe in season 12, before making the jump to a dancing pro for season 13.
During her time on the show, she has won the coveted Mirror Ball trophy twice: first in season 14 alongside Donald Driver, and again in season 22 with partner Nyle DiMarco.
Most recently, Peta—who also shares sons Shai, 7, and Rio, 13 months, with Maks—was paired with Barry Williams for season 32, and started filming just 10 weeks after giving birth to Rio. And as she explained at the time, she couldn't wait to get back on the dance floor.
"I miss dance. I miss the show," Peta told E! News in September. "It's only one time a year. And if I can make it work with getting people in to help me out with looking after the kids for a few hours a day, then I'm gonna do it."
The 38-year-old also noted that a big part of wanting to be part of the cast was because she loves "working and meeting new people."
And she couldn't have been more thankful to have Barry—whom she called "a gem"—by her side for the season.
"Barry's been an amazing person to have in my life," she said. "So, I'm grateful."
The dancing duo ultimately came in seventh place during their season together.
In addition to Peta, Artem Chigvintsev will not be returning for Dancing With the Stars season 33, along with Lindsay Arnold, who confirmed the news in a recent TikTok.
